Writing, writing, writing–story, character, tone, dialogue. These few days in Boulder are all about craft. “Tone is what you hear through the motel walls,” Gary Ferguson said in his craft talk this morning. “There are no rules,” Pam Houston said in her talk yesterday. Writing by writers.
Conversations at meals about where we are in the process–at the beginning, in the middle, still. These few days in Boulder are all about being in this together. Gary listening to Pam’s talk. Pam listening to Gary’s. Alan Heathcock speaks tomorrow. Writing by writers. All of us listening to each other.

Oh, how I love writer events. This looks/sounds so lovely. Can’t wait for our NJ SCBWI Conf. in June! I have work to finish before it, which is probably a good thing. It would be great if I didn’t have to spend so much dang time in the kitchen! I want to hold a pen, not a spatula! 🙂
I hear you, Donna!
