This red dress is hanging in my study.
I found it a few weeks ago when I was going through a bag of my daughter’s old clothes that my sister was returning. It’s the same red dress I wore across Europe when I was 10 years old and then to a birthday party for my sister at the Baskin Robbins at Ansley Mall in Atlanta. I just keep moving it closer to where I sit at my desk. I’m not sure I can part with it.

The motto I go by when deciding what to keep is: is it beautiful? Does it give my heart joy? It sounds as if the dress gives your heart joy. I would keep it.
Kirie, I didn’t set out to keep this dress, which makes it all the more interesting that here it is. And I don’t think it gives me joy so much as it mystifies me and makes me think and imagine. Which I guess for a writer is even better than joy.
Wondering if you got your new computer…
I don’t think you should part with it, Cynthia 🙂 There are a few outfits from my childhood I wish I still had.
Thanks, Donna : )
