Yesterday, Provincetown. Today, Columbus. Tomorrow, Atlanta. Wednesday, Los Angeles, Thursday, Tomales Bay… Out of the solitude into the social.

Three flights today. All on time. At home now, I’ve unpacked and repacked.

I used to take two to three hours to pack. Now my average is about thirty minutes. And I’m even quicker when I’m unpacking and repacking in one go.

And no matter how long I’ll be gone, I no longer check a bag. A little of this and a little of that and I’m good to go. Toiletries stay packed. And a couple of years ago I bought a suitcase I couldn’t stuff because I got tired of the stress of mine not fitting in the overhead bin and then having to pull stuff out of it while everyone was trying to get by.
