I hate calling attention to myself and/or attention being called to me. My face turns red, and it makes me want to crawl in a hole. I would like to be present in the moment and make the best of it, or even enjoy it. I want to have been here.
It’s just that if attention comes my way, I’d like to be able to enjoy it, rather than diving below the surface of things. Thank goodness it doesn’t happen often : ) Thanks for taking the time to comment, Sarah.
Cynthia… DITTO! on your reply to Sarah… thou my tendency is to respond by playing on the surface of things… and then sending the attention on to someone or something else… however… I have had the experience of standing in the heat of my own ‘redness’ in a support group where one simply shares one’s truth… without comment from one’s audience… other than a Thank you. 🙂
I am so much the same! “I’d like to be able to enjoy it, rather than diving below the surface of things.” Perfectly said! I wish I could overcome that one…
Sarah, writing this post and realizing I’d like to be able to enjoy these rare moments makes me think I’ll be ready the next time one comes my way. We’ll see…
Being a good observer, as opposed to the center of attention, would be a useful character trait in a writer. Lovely photo!

Thanks for your comment, Helena. Maybe I need a support group too. No wait, I have all of you : )
