Ha! That looks like my office. I’m measuring progress in inches culled off my desk. Glad to know I’m not the only one. I get this way when finishing a first draft of a MS. I hope your mess is a productive one and that your mind is free of clutter.

Sarah, I’m glad I’m not the only one. It’s like I just have to keep going. No time to clean up behind me. Soon, though. Because I’m afraid my mind feels like the mess around me : (

My office, too, has stacks of various heights, of various forms of “stuff,” and it is time to cull. Because my mind is cluttered and not so productive–feeling, as you said, like the mess around me. Too much so, time to wade through and winnow.

Jeanne, welcome to Catching Days. I finally de-cluttered last night, and I have to say I feel lighter. I can breathe easier. This morning in my study I didn’t have to step around anything. Neither did I topple any stack. Hope you find time for it in the near future. And thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.

A world of words — what a beautiful sight! My study at home and my office (I am an elementary school librarian) have that same “so many books, so little time” look. As I review the sticky-note list fastened to my laptop, it is comforting to know I have kindred spirits building piles and creating lists along with me.

Beverly, nice to see you back here. Yes, a world of words and a world of books! I love this: “kindred spirits building piles and creating lists.” You make it sound so positive and constructive. Now I have a whole new way to look at the piles and lists : )

I am extremely unorganized, in fact, the more life I live, the more unorganized I become. Glad I’m not alone in that. 🙂 (And being a librarian doesn’t help, either, people assume we are an organized lot…we are convincing, I suppose…)

Terresa, I did manage to get this mess cleaned up so that is consolation as I struggle to make sense of another one. Apologies for the belated response but again, discovering your comment has cheered me.
