From the desk where I write, I can see change. And I can hear it: quiet. The kids are back in school. I can feel it too: it's only 85 degrees outside. Fall is just around the corner...
Hmmm. Fall feels so far away from where I am. Triple digits today, and the forecast is for hotter temps tomorrow. Though, I love Fall, I hate the winters here. I start to get depressed in the fall just thinking about it.
Still, no matter where it is, I just can’t wrap my head around leaves turning in August. Is that normal?
Yes, I walked through my first pile of leaves last week – it was a small, but still it was momentous. (it’s normal here, Tricia.) kids don’t go back until after labour day here in early sept. different in the US I see. Enjoy the quiet!
Jennifer, I think going back to school before Labor Day is a Southern thing. But I’m happy to know the leaves are changing there too. And I noticed today, the light is a bit different. The sky feels more open.

Well, Tricia, heck of a good point. I hope it’s normal. I got so excited looking out the window, thinking yes, fall is coming. I love fall AND winter.
I am thrilled I found this blog! A literary blog! I am looking forward to reading through the archives. Thank you!
Thank you for reading, Brenna. Let me know if you have any questions.
