I am so thrilled that you could reveal some deeper motives as to why we were there , who we are and how it projects us into the future. Your profound ability to turn consonants and vowels into windows and bridges astounds me to say the least.and the proof is that you drew a more accurate portrait than I did of you. But then again …every thing we do is a self portrait.

Although the characters surrounding you are your own, I’ve met every one of them on my various lifelong sojourns in that magical place. My husband Mark was a hot shot fire fighter right where you are in his late teens through early thirties, and I lived in LaConner before returning to grad school to study with Annie Dillard herself.
