Dorothy! It's so great to hear from you. At first I didn't recognize Amy's name, but I did read her Modern Love column--Cal pointed it out to me : ) I also know the book Little Pea. You're so right--her NYT obituary was filled with moments we could have connected on. I'm sad to have missed her. I hope you're well and that you kick yourself into a little action.

I remember 9/11 so clearly. It was terrifying. At the moment running a 5K sounds daunting. After an Achilles injury last May, I'm trying to work my way back to a mile.

I am a loyal follower, and your post today made me resolve to kick myself into action. Meanwhile, ever since I read the obit of Amy Krouse Rosenthal earlier in the week, I have been wanting to make sure you know of her. Google her obit and then watch a couple of YouTubes. She was a beautiful soul, and I am sure you two would have related in a productive way.

My god you're such a smart mom. Gas, money, backpack of essentials. See, this is why I didn't have kids and the world should thank me. It would NEVER occur to me to do that. I'd just call my kid and wail. I couldn't be more impressed.

Yes I could! I am delighted and tremendously impressed by your triathlon adventures plus JEALOUS. I now run 5Ks as slowly as humanly possible--I could speed-walk better times--and I love it but I can't imagine doing anything more taxing. How I wish I could be a wonder woman like that!

Pining for the same writerly experiences you have had. But it warms my heart to think of you having such a wonderful time and being broken open by masters of the craft. Happy sigh.
