Only seeing this now. Thanks for the applause, I’m really enjoying my revival of the blog and hope I continue to find my way to its best new form. I’m so glad you feel that way about your project (I knew you would but it’s nice to get confirmation). In another year or so (if you’re not seeing it already) I bet you’ll see those posts shape themselves to a kind of memoir in micro or flash, if you WANT to see that, if you want to SHAPE that. I think it would be a wonderful project! I’m only now seeing the potential in a lot of my drafts in my year, so it really does take a while to get the objectivity you need. So what I’m saying is, settle in and enjoy the benefits that will just keep coming and coming….

Through the years, especially when the kids were little, a 3 or 4 night trip to Canyon Ranch always brought me back to center–and it still does. Whatever I need, even if I don’t know what it is, is waiting for me there.

Well, you’re right–there is something rather round and perfect about 60… And yes, not only mind and body but also so much else that had been neglected over the year of daily posting needed attention too. And I’m very sorry to hear about the thyroid issues. It’s becoming a more common problem than it ever was (mine was removed in July 2015) and due to poor guidance from doctors, am dealing with lots of other stuff. Don’t sweat the long absence from personal posting at the blog–I did exactly the same thing after my year (times 2 or 3, don’t want to think about it long enough to be sure). Mind AND body need substantial time to recover after that kind of sustained attention. It was wonderful and rewarding and the benefits will keep coming… but it was also hard as shit and kind of destroyed you and made you nuts, am I right? Welcome back from being destroyed and nuts! Woot! Anyway, I’m so glad you’re feeling good and looking forward to your best decade ever. The world is falling apart, so we sort of have to bring our A-game right now… DAMMIT I meant to be only positive… um….
