Thanks for sharing your writing day. I, too, love Elizabeth Strout. Just finished ‘Lucy,’ and love this quote: “Go to the page with a heart as open as the heart of god.” It sounds as if that’s what you do.

I love the idea of using visual art to create a path back inside the story, freeing your brain to write. And I love the picture of the collage. So inspiring! The collage, the abandoned schoolhouse, the challenging subjects of racism, misogyny, and abuse, and the gorgeous working title Heron House all have me wanting to read this novel.

This writing advice is so timely for me. I keep trying to get traction, but I think I need a new way in. Perhaps if I let the writing dance or paint…

I also love the photo of the heart rock! I have a small collection myself. 🙂
