Darrelyn, I enjoyed reading them in the order Egan arranged them in the book. You’re on that path–“Found Objects” is Chapter 1. Oh, and another reason to buy the book is that she said in the interview, that in the New Yorker publication of “Safari,” the editor asked her to remove several of the flash forwards that, in the book, work toward unifying the collection.

I cannot wait to read the entire collection of Egan’s brilliant prose. I read “Found Objects” in The New Yorker but that’s the only one. So I have the rest to look forward to savoring. Thanks, C.

It was helpful getting a list of where the stories were published in the New Yorker and elsewhere. It bugs me when I buy a new book and find very little new content, but reading just one good story can lead me to buy a collection.
