Well, there wasn't much to see! Sorry you are sharing my sentiments. Yes, I imagine being tired is part of it too. After the movie on Thursday, I had a massage on Friday. And when I got back in my study, I had my painting to enjoy.

So glad you're enjoying Annie Dillard and your new Kindle. Keep me posted.

Hi Kayla! Sorry you couldn't see the photo--although it was just of my full trashcan with a burned out candle in it. And doing better now, thanks. Hope you're doing great.

Almost missed your post. I'm working day and night on final revisions of manuscript and feel burned out, too. But I think it's plain ole exhaustion. Sleep, walk, and massage work for me. Then read and ponder the fabulous painting.

PS. I'm marveling over my first purchase on the new Kindle: Annie Dillard's memoir, An American Childhood, both recommended by you. Wow. I'm loving the book (no surprise) and the Kindle (huge surprise). Once again, thanks C. I really didn't think I'd like reading on a Kindle, but I do.

Hi, Cynthia! For some reason, I can't see anything but the words of this post! I can't tell if burned out means that YOU are burned out, or if it's something to do with the picture I can't see, or both. At any rate, I hope you're doing well! :)

Those are still words, Cynthia. And you still showed up. Yesterday, I was surprised to see my shadow (& then surprised that I was surprised). I think i expected to see the balloon on a tether that i normally feel like. But here i am. Still, rooted to this earth. And there you are, writing words that don't feel like words and checking in when you feel as though you've checked out. :) I don't remember how i got to your site exactly, but i love it. thank you.

I wish I'd thought of that earlier, Richard. But I just got back from seeing a movie, and I feel better already. I'll take a look at Maile Meloy's collection too. Thanks.

Well sit and stare at that gorgeous Annie Dillard painting you own, you lucky duck. Better yet, read Maile Meloy's collection Both Ways is the Only Way I Want It. I've just blundered into it, and my goodness. If it does not inspire you, see a doctor, Cynthia.
