glad you liked it. we did it in about four minutes, just like my CCN interview. no prep, just get out there and do it. (seems to be the best way)

I’m not surprised you are such a good listener. Thank Ray for “Come at the day with what YOU can bring to the day, not with what the day can bring YOU.” And thank you for the blog. You’re right about Crazy Heart, the movie. I’ll have to check out the book.

me a desert rat? i guess so, if getting my car stuck in the sand during a ferocious dust storm last week qualifies me. have fun in nevada. ever done Burning Man out there? there’s a guy here named Smoke with an eye patch from shooting himself with a nail gun, who apparently does the neon at Burning Man. pretty wise fellow, so far as i can tell … xx, d

I have heard of your latest book, will put on my “must read” list asap. So you’re a desert rat? You go. I’ll be tripping to the Nevada desert with a girlfriend in July, maybe I’ll get some writing done. So far, I’ve been dipping my toes into the publishing world with the wonderful Miss Nikki Moustaki, on her site PetPostcardProject.com. She likes me! She really likes me! I’m gonna go for the gusto, and quit the pussyfootin’ around. Get on it. You are an inspiration my new friend.

it’s true. you’re trying to do a difficult and lonely and brave thing, so it’s crucial that you be on your own side and never ever beat yourself up, ESPECIALLY when the words feel wrong or they’re not coming or … all those bad things. be espcially nice to yourself when that happens.
