I’ve read it so many times, it’s starting to feel like ‘The Sound of Music . . .’

I’m not sure I’m with Willa on this one. So much of my writing, right now, has to do with upheaval and danger. Finding the ‘quiet place’ is a goal I have, but not one I’m able to reach at this exact time in my life.

On the other hand, Thea is my hero. And has been, for years. She’s my hero in the sense that she knows what’s out there, she knows what she has to work with, and she goes for it. Full on.

I can’t say I’m enamored of how life ends up for Thea–I’d like to believe there were so many deviations she could have taken along the way, in favor of other–but I love her. For her courage, for her tenacity; for her absolute commitment to art.
